The next level of lifestyle living has arrived in Port Moresby with the completion of the Era Matana Estate. The development’s opening was announced at the official launch on September 22 by Rennie Wekina, General Manager of Properties.
The Era Matana development has been in progress since the land was purchased in late 2012. In proceeding with the project, the Board demonstrated long term belief in the property market and Papua New Guinea’s economy overall.
Stage 1 of the estate consists of twenty two-bedroom apartments, and Stage 2 consists of ten three-bedroom apartments and five two-bedroom apartments.
Credit Corporation is committed to Papua New Guinea, developing world class assets that not only benefit the shareholders, but also the communities in which they operate. Mr Wekina revealed that while developing the Era Matana Estate, the Board approved work that enhanced services to neighbouring properties in the area. Aside from the obvious reparation of the street, the upgrade included new sewer and stormwater, electricity and communications infrastructure, connecting to the mains. These upgrades provided neighbours the opportunity to connect to these services – in some cases for the first time.
Era Matana Estate maintains the philosophy of securing the perimeter. The exterior, buildings, facilities and security operations have been designed so the perimeter is secure and tenants are safe within the property. This is achieved with CCTV at all entrances and around the perimeter, access control to each building and the facilities, and alarm systems in each apartment.
The estate facilitates visitor access through an intercom system that communicates with the guard house, and also provides main entry and lift access at each building. Tenants need not leave their apartment to allow access for their visitors.
Fire safety is provided via smoke detection in the apartments and common areas, connected back to a centralised panel in each building. Main fire-fighting equipment is located in designated areas in the lobby. The lifts are supplied and serviced by Otis and are operated by the access control system. All systems are connected back to the guard house where trained personnel will be monitoring and reacting to these systems at all times.
In the apartments, CAT6 infrastructure has been installed throughout the buildings with connection points in the lounge and bedrooms. Antennas can be mounted on the roof and connected directly to the cabling infrastructure into the apartments. In each kitchen there is the full suite of appliances including a refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, cooktop, waste disposal unit and microwave oven.
Era Matana tenants will be connected to Papua New Guinea’s fastest internet provider Speedcast. All tenants will enjoy 10 gigabytes of free data each month that can be used in their apartment, throughout the complex and where there is a Speedcast Wi-Fi point in the city. Soon this services will also be available to clients at Era Dorina.
